T-men fall 9-6 in Duncan game

The Nanaimo Timbermen fell 9-6 to the New Westminster Salmonbellies on Saturday in Western Lacrosse Association action.

The Nanaimo Timbermen still have a shot at the playoffs, but the road will be tougher after a loss at Duncan on the weekend.

Paul Brebber led the T-men with two goals, junior call-up Corey Shires had a goal and three assists and Hugh Weir, Brody Eastwood and Macgregor Johnston were other scorers for Nanaimo.

The senior A Timbermen put out a press release this week thanking the crew that worked  hard to put on Saturday's game in Duncan.

"There were a number of positive comments from the visiting New Westminster Salmonbellies, the WLA, and the fans in attendance as well," noted the press release.

The senior A Ti-men play their final home game of 2014 this Saturday (July 26) against the Burnaby Lakers at 7 p.m. at Frank Crane Arena.
