Season tickets selling briskly

Nanaimo's BCHL team announced this week that season ticket sales are up from last year, and that the early-bird pricing will be extended.

The Nanaimo Clippers seem to have gained some fans during their 40th anniversary season.

The city's B.C. Hockey League club announced this week that season ticket sales are up from last year, and that the early-bird pricing will be extended another four weeks.

The Clippers introduced reduced ticket prices earlier this year.

"We have had an exceptional response to the new pricing," said Jen Kennedy, the team's director of sales and marketing, in a press release. "The number of fans choosing to purchase a full season ticket has jumped significantly from last year. The new pricing structure not only rewards longtime fans for their loyalty but makes our games the best choice for affordable wintertime family entertainment."

Adult season tickets cost $199, which amounts to $7.10 per game. Seniors' season tickets are $169 and the cost is $99 for youths aged 13-19 and $69 for children 6-12.
