Raiders alum hosts flag football camp

Marshall Cook is hosting a flag football camp at Comox Field later this month for children ages 7-14.

This football won’t be hard-hitting – it’s just about learning and playing.

Former V.I. Raiders-turned-UBC Thunderbirds receiver Marshall Cook is hosting a flag football camp at Comox Field later this month for children ages 7-14.

The camp is being held in partnership with the Raiders junior football club and the South-Side Minor Football Association and is timed to coincide with the start of flag football season.

“It’s giving them the opportunity to do it at the non-contact level,” Cook said. “Some kids may have no idea if they want to play or not. This can kind of give them a chance to maybe go try out the flag on a weekend. It gives them a little intro into the sport.”

The camp will be held March 19 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. The morning will consist of practice drills, and then there will be games in the afternoon.

The registration cost is $25, which includes a t-shirt and lunch. To sign up, please stop by the Raiders’ clubhouse at Comox Field on Saturday (March 11) or March 18 between noon-3 p.m. For more information about the camp, please call 250-816-5643.
