Vancouver Island Pro Wrestling returns to Nanaimo this Saturday (Jan. 23).
Three championship belts will be defended, and the feud between Nanaimo wrestlers B.J. Laredo and Ice continues with Laredo facing an opponent of Ice’s choosing.
Ice had originally indicated he would face Laredo, but since backed out, saying he agreed to the match "in the heat of the moment," according to a statement from VIPW commissioner Mike Democrat.
The VIPW championship will be on the line as champ Bishop defends against Eddie Osbourne. The tag-team champions, Tony Baroni and Billy Suede, will defend against the Good Brothers; and VIPW women's champion Riea Von Slasher will face Violet. Another announced match sees Nanaimo's Scott Steel face Lak Siddartha.
Bell time Saturday is 7 p.m. at the Departure Bay Activity Centre. Tickets cost $10, or $15 for front-row seats, in advance at Centre Court Collectibles, That ’50s Barbershop and China Steps Emporium. Admission at the door will be $15.
