Power forward signs on

The Nanaimo Clippers are sure to have a competitive training camp at the end of summer, since they keep adding to the roster.

This week the junior A hockey club announced the commitment of 18-year-old forward Ryan Hunter, a 6-foot-3, 195-pound forward from Mississauga, Ont. Hunter was an alternate captain with the Toronto Junior Canadians midget AAA team this past season, scoring 24 points in 29 games.

"Ryan is a strong skater, who will add size and all-around play to our forward group. He is a skilled player who plays a power forward game," said Clippers coach Mike Vandekamp in a press release. “He competes hard at both ends of the rink, finishes his checks and is generally hard to play against."
