Baseball season has barely started and already some of the games have had playoff intensity.

Nanaimo’s Mid Island Pirates and the Parksville Royals split a doubleheader in Duncan last Sunday, and continue the series in Parksville this coming Sunday (April 23).

“It’s always fun to play four games quickly in the season because it forms that rivalry,” said Doug Rogers, Pirates manager. “It’ll be fun to get back at it with them again.”

He said he will expect competitiveness from his team for 14 innings, something he said didn’t happen last time out against the Royals.

GAME ON … Sunday’s game times at Parksville’s Springwood Park are 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
