Palladian Pirates on quite a tear

The Nanaimo Palladian Pirates junior baseball team is putting together an impressive winning streak. The boys won four road games on the weekend, defeating Abbotsford by scores of 8-1 and 5-2 on Saturday, then getting past North Shore the next day 4-2 and 7-6.

Pitcher Tanner Linn set the tone for the weekend with a no-hitter in the blowout win, giving up just one walk. Bryan Odgers hit a home run in that one. The second game Bryan Odgers was the winning pitcher, giving up just two hits. Nate Odgers went 3-for-4 and Bryan had two hits.

On Sunday’s first game Nate Odgers allowed one hit over five innings for the win. Griffin Andreychuk and Spencer Dawson had two hits each. In the finale, Andreychuk got the win, Braeden Mousseau, Bryan Odgers and Dawson had two hits each and David Jerome hit a three-RBI double.

GAME ON … The junior Pirates host the North Delta Blue Jays this Saturday (June 11) at Serauxmen Stadium for games at noon and 2:30 p.m. On Sunday the Palladian Pirates visit the White Rock Tritons.
