The Palladian Pirates kept winning on the weekend with three out of four wins. The B.C. Junior Premier Baseball League team (18-8) won 3-2 and lost 6-5 against North Delta on Saturday at Serauxmen Stadium, then swept White Rock 4-2 and 15-3 Sunday on the mainland.
The first game was perhaps most exciting, as Spencer Dawson hit a walk-off double in the bottom of the seventh to deliver the victory. Bryan Odgers went 3-for-4 at the dish in that game and Braeden Mousseau was 2-for-3. Tanner Linn was the winning pitcher.
The next game, a rare loss, ended in the 10th inning. Bryan Odgers was again 3-for-4 and Mousseau and Griffin Andreychuk had two hits apiece. Nate Odgers was the pitcher of record.
The highlight of Sunday's close game was a home run from Dawson, but Aidan Goodall also supplied a big hit, a two-run single in the top of the seventh. Mousseau was the winning pitcher in a relief appearance.
In the blowout win, David Jerome had a huge day with a double, a triple and five RBI and Alex Anderson and Tristan Olsen had two hits apiece. Goodall breezed to the pitching win.
GAME ON … The Palladian Pirates host the Parksville Royals juniors on Thursday (June 16) at 6 p.m. at Serauxmen Stadium.
