The Nanaimo NightOwls are looking to build on a memorable first season, and now there are games on the schedule to look forward to.

The West Coast League announced its 2023 schedule this week and the NightOwls will get to open the season in their home park for the first time. Nanaimo’s season opener comes against the Walla Walla Sweets on June 2 at Serauxmen Stadium.

Like always, the WCL will keep teams busy with baseball almost every night during June and July. The NightOwls will close out the home portion of their schedule with six straight days of action July 25-30 against the Kelowna Falcons and Kamloops NorthPaws, then end the regular season with six straight road games the first week of August.

“We think the fans will like this schedule, it’s more varied and spread out than what we had last summer…” said Jim Swanson, general manager of the NightOwls. “We’re excited to get to work on filling the stands and coming up with great reasons to come to the park, aside from the high-calibre baseball our fans enjoyed in 2022.”

The ball club promises more improvements to the stadium in 2023, including more seating, better food and beverage options and PA system upgrades.
