Nanaimo golfer wins home tournament

NANAIMO – The 66th Annual Nanaimo Women’s Mid-Island Tournament saw one their own bring home the championship.

The 66th Annual Nanaimo Women’s Mid-Island Tournament saw one their own bring home the championship this weekend.

Shirin Anjarwalla of Nanaimo Golf Club topped the field of the two-day 36-hole tournament with a score of 152.

Hilary Jaeger (Royal Colwood) won the Low Net title for the tournament, with a score of 145.

Seventy-two women, representing 20 golf clubs from the Island and Lower Mainland, started the tournament.

The tournament was not just about golf. More than $1,500 was raised for Haven Society.
