It was just a mid-season match, but it was a meaningful one for the Nanaimo Timbermen.
The city’s B.C. Junior A Lacrosse League squad defeated the rival Victoria Shamrocks by a 12-8 score on Tuesday, June 28, at Frank Crane Arena.
Nanaimo ended the second period on a 6-0 run and held on for the victory against the BCJALL’s first-place team.
Ryan Sheridan had four goals and three assists to lead the T-men, Arthur Miller had three goals and three helpers and Jack Bowie and Jacob Dunbar both had two and two. Justin Geddie made 39 saves for the win.
Nanaimo (9-3) is just two points back of Victoria (10-3) in the standings.
GAME ON … The junior A T-men host the Burnaby Lakers on Saturday, July 2, at 3:30 p.m. at Frank Crane Arena, then visit the Port Coquitlam Saints on Sunday, July 3.
