A road trip to the Kootenays was a successful one for the Nanaimo Clippers.
Nanaimo’s B.C. Hockey League club won both its games this past weekend, defeating the Trail Smoke Eaters by a 5-3 score on Friday, Nov. 17, and then doubling up the Cranbrook Bucks by a 6-3 score on Saturday, Nov. 18.
In the first game, Noah Alvarez, Joel Plante, Luke Buss, Samuel Boisvert and Willyam Gendron scored for Nanaimo and Tyler Hodges made 33 saves for the win.
The next night, Plante was the star with a hat trick, Gabriel Westling scored his first of the season and Mike Murtagh and Brett Merner also tallied. Hodges was busy in the crease with 42 saves.
GAME ON … The Clippers host the Alberni Valley Bulldogs on Friday, Nov. 24, at 7 p.m. at Frank Crane Arena, then play a rematch in Port Alberni the next day, Saturday, Nov. 25.
