The Nanaimo Clippers will be facing off in the post-season against a mainland opponent.

The Clippers, after winning their final regular-season game this past weekend and then awaiting results on the out-of-town scoreboard, will be matched up against the Surrey Eagles in the first round of the B.C. Hockey League playoffs.

The Clippers (33-17-3-1) earned third place in the Coastal Conference, ending the regular season with a 3-0 shutout versus the Victoria Grizzlies on Friday at Frank Crane Arena.

The sixth-place Eagles (28-26-0-0) didn’t have any games this past weekend as they waited to find out their first-round opponent.

GAME ON … Game 1 is Friday, April 1, at 7 p.m. at Frank Crane Arena, and Game 2 is Saturday, April 2, at 7 p.m. at Frank Crane. The series will then shift to Surrey for Game 3 and Game 4 on April 4 and 5, respectively.
