NANAIMO – National series stop drew thousands to Nanaimo's Wastelands Motocross Park.

The riders were rockstars this past weekend at the Rockstar Energy Motocross Nationals.

The annual national series stop drew thousands to Nanaimo’s Wastelands Motocross Park, with some of the world’s best riders taking to the track for MX1 and MX2 main events on Sunday.

Taking the top spot in the MX1 event was Cole Thompson, from Ontario, while Kaven Benoit, from Quebec, took the MX2 race.

Saturday’s amateur day featured other divisions of racing including the women’s championship series.
