The VIBI Mariners came up with one win on their road trip to Kamloops this past weekend.

The VIBI Mariners came up with one win on their road trip to Kamloops this past weekend. Nanaimo’s Vancouver Island Baseball Institute college team won 4-2 against the Okanagan Coyotes, lost 8-7 and 10-5 to the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack, then ended with a 4-0 loss to Okie.

In the win, Gobind Sall had three hits and Tyson Dyck had two. Kris Phillips was the winning pitcher after relieving Austin Penner, who threw seven innings, allowing one earned run and striking out seven.

Sall and Bryce Crosbie had two hits apiece in Saturday’s late game. In Sunday’s early game, Bryan O’Hara had two hits and two RBIs and Chad Schultz also had a pair of hits.

VIBI plays the Calgary Dinos in Kelowna this Saturday and Sunday (April 25-26).
