103 yards and a touchdown later, BC Lions running back Andrew Harris has been named the CFL's Canadian Player of the Week for Week 2.
Harris – a Winnipeg native – rushed 15 times in BC's 24-16 win over the defending Grey Cup champion Toronto Argonauts last Thursday. He also caught six passes for 49 yards.
It was BC's first win of the season, which is the Lions' 60th in the league. They take on the Edmonton Eskimos on Saturday. Both West Division teams – rivals, at times – are 1-1 to start the 2013 season.
Edmonton's Hugh Charles won the CFL's Offensive Player of the Week and Winnipeg's Bryant Turner won the Defensive Player of the Week.

Although he's a Winnipeg kid, through-and-through, Harris's connection to British Columbia isn't limited to his current stint with the Leos. He also played his junior football in Nanaimo for the VI Raiders of the Canadian Junior Football League, choosing that route over CIS football.
This is Harris's fourth season with the Lions, and fourth in the CFL.
"I'm still learning and still adapting and the game is still slowing down for me," he told Metro's Cam Tucker in April, approaching the 2013 season.
"I think that's important to be that way in any career. You always want to get better and better. You don't want to peak at a young age. I don't feel like I've peaked yet and there's still room for improvement."
