The Nanaimo Timbermen junior A lacrosse team dropped its first pre-season game to a familiar foe. The juniors were beaten 11-6 by the Victoria Shamrocks Saturday on the road.
Former T-men goalie Scott Bannister stymied his old team, allowing just one goal over the first two periods to earn the win. Timbermen goal scorers included Corey Shires and Paul Brebber.
Nanaimo’s next pre-season game is Friday (April 29) against the DBL Timbermen at 7:30 p.m. at the Nanaimo Ice Centre.
