Nanaimo Judo Club standout Alicia Fiandor won a pair of bronze medals in Argentina this month after competing as part of Judo Canada’s contingent in Cordoba, Argentina.
At the Pan-American championships, Fiandor defeated Chilean athlete Kathleen Jara in the bronze-medal match.
The Canadians won 11 medals at the event.
“It’s been a great day for our country,” said Jean-Pierre Cantin, Judo Canada’s junior coach, in a press release.
Fiandor also medalled at South American championships.
