The VIU gym will see the Mariners tip off against the Mariners this weekend.
Vancouver Island University's men's basketball team is playing its annual alumni game Saturday (Sept. 20).
"There's some really good interest with some of our better players from the last few years," said Matt Kuzminski, VIU coach. "[It's] one of the stronger teams we play all year. They'll be very talented and it'll be a tough test for us."
Jason Hubbs, Jacob Thom, Tyler Olsen, Carson Williams and Drew Kuzminski are some of the alumni players who will suit up.
Following the game, there will be a beer-and-burger event at the Queen's, a fundraiser for the men's basketball program. Tickets may be purchased from any VIU men's basketball coach or player.
The alumni game tips off at 3 p.m.; admission is free.
