The Nanaimo Hornets were stymied by their neighbouring rivals in the playoffs.
The Cowichan Piggies defeated the Hornets 17-11 in the men’s Div. 1 Times Cup semifinals on Saturday afternoon at May Richards Bennett Pioneer Park.
Pat Milford scored the Hornets’ only try and Brad Marshall kicked two penalties.
Nanaimo’s men had been on a three-match win streak prior to the loss.
