The region’s best rugby rivalry will hit the pitch this coming weekend.

The Nanaimo Hornets meet the Cowichan Piggies on Saturday (March 23) in a Div. 1 Cowichan Cup matchup at May Richards Bennett Pioneer Park in north Nanaimo.

The sides met earlier this month in Times Cup play, with Cowichan prevailing 27-25 in that match at Herd Road. Both teams scored dominant wins last weekend, with Nanaimo hammering Comox 54-19 and Cowichan shutting out Port Alberni 31-0.

This Saturday’s tilt starts at 1 p.m. and admission is free.
