Basketball season isn’t finished yet for the city’s all-star players. The Vancouver Island Seniors’ Classic announced the rosters of players who have been invited to participate in the 26th annual all-star game pitting the North Island against the South Island.
Suiting up for the North Island girls will be Jenna Ziemanski and McKenzie Nicks of Dover Bay and Julie Zhao, Taelar Keir and Sara Simovic of Wellington. Making the North Island boys’ A all-star team are Aaron Copley of Wellington, Bryson Cox of Woodlands and Mike Pereira of Dover. Aaron Halsall of Woodlands and Dustin Olsen of Wellington made the B all-star team. Vancouver Island University coaches Matt Kuzminski and Avneet Brar will coach the North Island A and B all-star teams, respectively.
The games go Saturday (April 6) at St. Margaret’s School in Victoria. The boys’ B all-star game is at 4:30 p.m., the girls go at 6:15 p.m. and the A boys will tip off at 8 p.m.
