Hockey team has chance to fill net

The Nanaimo Clippers have had the Victoria Grizzlies’ number this season.

So far, that number has been seven or eight.

The Clips have scored a boatload of goals against the Grizz this month, winning by scores of 8-6 and 7-4.

The teams meet again Wednesday (Oct. 12)  in Victoria, then play a rematch on Sunday (Oct. 16) at Frank Crane Arena.

Clips alternate captain Graeme McCormack said the Grizz are “pretty soft”.

“We need to take advantage of that and keep the pace pretty high and basically just dictate how the play’s going to go with how ready we are for the game,” he said.

Josh Bryan, Clippers D-man and a former Grizzlies player, had a two-goal game against his old team earlier this month and will be looking to provide more goals and hits.

“Their D corps, we’ve exposed them quite a bit, working down low and grind them out and then we get a quick play,” he said.

GAME ON … Nanaimo and Victoria play tonight at 7:15 p.m. at Bear Mountain Arena. Sunday's game is a 3 p.m. faceoff at Frank Crane Arena.
