The V.I. Raiders’ tough defence was recognized with four all-star selections.
Defensive end Quinton Bowles, linebacker Dexter Shea and defensive backs Cole Virtanen and Josh Paisley were chosen as B.C. Football Conference all-stars for 2015. No offensive players on the Raiders were selected as all-stars.
Shea finished second in the league in defensive points and second in tackles with 38, and also had two fumble recoveries this season.
Bowles had 29 tackles and five and a half sacks.
Virtanen, a rookie, was third in the BCFC in defensive points and had 31 tackles and five interceptions.
Paisley made 34 tackles and assisted on 11 more.
GAME ON … The Raiders host the Langley Rams in the semifinals this Saturday (Oct. 17) at 1 p.m. at Caledonia Park.
