Nanaimo beach volleyball players kicked up some sand and had success at nationals.
Several locals qualified to represent B.C. at the Volleyball Canada Beach Nationals in Parksville this past weekend.
Sam Harder, from Woodlands Secondary School, and Jeff Webb from Dover Bay teamed up to earn bronze in U18 Tier 1 even though they were a year younger than many of their opponents.
Laura Greene and Alex Behie took gold in the U16 Tier 4 division and Mahala Grubac and Rebecca Harder earned silver in U16 Tier 4.
