The Dover Bay Dolphins were defeated by a tough opponent at provincials. Dover's senior AAA boys' basketball team lost 63-52 to the Pitt Meadows Marauders on Wednesday evening in Langley. The result means the Nanaimo team cannot win the provincial championship.
The Dolphins led Wednesday's game 28-27 at halftime and were down just 42-40 after three quarters before getting outscored in the final stanza.
Jon Bethell and Jason McKee each finished with 15 points.
Dover faces Sir Charles Tupper today (March 17) at 5:45 p.m. at the Langley Events Centre.
