Clips add character to blueline

The Nanaimo Clippers brought in a two-way defenceman for the coming season.

The city’s B.C. Hockey League team announced this week the commitment of Sean Flynn, a 1993-born D-man from Cary, N.C.

The six-foot, 195-pounder captained the Carolina Junior Hurricanes in 2010-11, amassing 15 goals and 30 assists. There, he was a teammate of Jared Chinn, another prospect who recently committed to the Clippers.

Mike Vandekamp, Clippers coach and GM, said in a press release that Flynn is a strong skater, intelligent and competitive.

“Sean is a person with strong character, leadership qualities, and is not afraid of hard work,” Vandekamp said.
