Clippers lose by lopsided score against Kings

The Nanaimo Clippers were blown out 7-1 by the Powell River Kings on Wednesday on the road, Nanaimo's third-straight loss.

The Nanaimo Clippers didn't get the bounce-back effort they wanted.

The Clips were blown out 7-1 by the Powell River Kings on Wednesday on the road, Nanaimo's third-straight loss.

Matt Creamer scored his team's only goal and the Kings were led by a hat-trick, first-star performance by Carter Turnbull, who is from Nanaimo.

Evan DeBrouwer suffered the loss on goal as the Clippers were outshot 30-20 and were credited with just one shot in the third period.

Nanaimo again had penalty trouble as Powell River went 2-for-9 on the power play.

GAME ON … The Clippers host the Coquitlam Express on Saturday (Oct. 1) at 6 p.m. at Frank Crane Arena, then host the Vernon Vipers on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Frank Crane.
