The Nanaimo Clippers announced that 20-year-old graduating player Zach Martin has committed to attend Geneseo State University in 2011-12.

The 6-foot, 190-pound checking forward from Montreal scored 10 goals in 44 games with the Clippers this past season and was the team’s recipient of the Coaches’ Award. His 66 penalty minutes were second-most on the club.

Martin joins former Clipper Carson Schell at Geneseo State’s Div. 3 hockey program, which has also attracted former Clippers Brett Bestwick, Chris Kestell, Jeff Pasemko and Chris Tarr.
