Clippers add Sharks choice

The Clippers announced this week the signing of Jake Jackson, a seventh-round draft choice of the San Jose Sharks in 2013.

The Nanaimo Clippers have added a bona fide NHL prospect to the mix.

The Clippers announced this week the signing of Jake Jackson, a 20-year-old forward who was a seventh-round draft choice of the San Jose Sharks in 2013.

The six-foot, 190 pounder played with the Des Moines Buccaneers of the United States Hockey League last season. Jackson has already secured an NCAA scholarship with the Michigan Tech Huskies.

“We are very excited to add a player of Jake’s calibre to our team…” said Mike Vandekamp, Clippers general manager, in a press release. “He will add great speed and skill to our forward group. We believe Jake will have an immediate offensive impact and be an exciting player for our fans to watch.”
