Riders are ready to navigate the ups and downs and twists and turns of another BMX season.

The Nanaimo BMX Association holds the first race of the season on Sunday (April 7) at the Marie Davidson BMX Park.

The sport is going strong, reports Chris Johnson, club president, in a press release, with riders ranging from two-year-old half-trackers up to 60-year-old masters athletes.

“Nanaimo BMX’s primary goal is to encourage riders of all ages to be active and to enjoy a healthy lifestyle,” Johnson said. “Anyone can start racing BMX at any time.”

Sunday’s race is slated for 11:30 a.m. following registration from 9:30-11 a.m. During April there are Wednesday night practices and Sunday races. More info at www.nanaimobmx.com.
