BMX club invites new riders

The Nanaimo BMX Association has one of the best tracks around and it wants to show it off.

The club is holding an open house this Saturday (April 30) and is specifically seeking non-members to race that day.

Anyone with any kind of bike can race around the track for free, provided they wear a helmet, long sleeves and pants and shoes.

Registration goes from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Marie Davidson BMX Park at Beban Park, with racing to follow. The club will be serving free hotdogs and pop.

Anyone can race – the club has members aged 2-65 at the moment – but youths should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
