The B.C. Colleges’ Athletic Association is building a new brand.
The college sports body has changed its name to the Pacific Western Athletic Association, or PacWest for short.
“We feel the PacWest name does an excellent job of identifying who we are and what we do and will give us a significant advantage as we implement our marketing plans,” said Bruce Hunter, PacWest president, in a press release. “[The] name and logo will soon be synonymous with athletic excellence in Canada.”
Vancouver Island University’s eight sports teams all compete in PacWest.
