Basketball camp at VIU will give back

Brar Basketball hosts a Give Back Camp on Saturday (Oct. 14) at the Vancouver Island University gym

A basketball camp in Nanaimo next weekend will bounce back all the proceeds to help youths get in the game.

Brar Basketball is holding a Give Back Camp on Saturday (Oct. 14) at the Vancouver Island University gym.

The camp, for boys and girls in grades 6-12, costs $30 per participant, with 100 per cent of the registration fees going to financially assist youths with costs of future basketball camps.

“These camps are so important to me as I was a person who was able to coach due to the generosity of others. I hope to see lots of athletes out so we can create opportunities for others,” said Avneet Brar, camp coach, in a press release.

The camp goes from 12:30-2:30 p.m. For information, visit and to register, e-mail
