High school football season couldn’t start any better than this.
The Nanaimo District Islanders and the John Barsby Bulldogs varsity teams meet in exhibition play Friday (Sept. 8) at 6 p.m. at Merle Logan Field.
The annual matchup is known as the Kocher Classic.
In recent years the Isles and ’Dawgs have been in the same AA conference, but this fall, enrolment at Nanaimo District Secondary School has bumped the football program up to the AAA division.
Admission is free to tonight’s game.
