Barsby Bulldogs shut out Pipers

The Barsby Bulldogs silenced the Argyle Pipers to start the high school football season. The AA varsity ’Dawgs won 34-0.

The Barsby Bulldogs silenced the Argyle Pipers to start the high school football season.

The AA varsity ’Dawgs were 34-0 winners in North Vancouver last Friday. Brandon Parker had 107 rushing yards and three touchdowns and Kyle Vollet and Chance MacKay-Topley scored Barsby’s other majors. Quarterback North Rainey was 5-for-6 for 98 yards and Cole Virtanen led the defence with five tackles.

The Nanaimo District Islanders, meanwhile, were shut out 42-0 by the Carson Graham Eagles that same day in North Van.

Barsby and NDSS are both on the North Shore again Friday (Sept. 27) to take on the Sentinel Spartans and Argyle Pipers, respectively.
