The Barsby Bulldogs got the better of their neighbours in an annual rivalry matchup.
The junior varsity 'Dawgs defeated the NDSS Islanders 42-16 in the Kocher Classic football game Thursday afternoon at Merle Logan Field.
Barsby quarterback Cameron Wright threw three touchdown passes, one each to Ethan Laing, Colin Nutting and Zachary Taylor, and Dominic Bertrand had two touchdown runs including a 69-yard major.
For the Islanders, quarterback Maren Bradbrooke had one rushing touchdown and one long TD pass to Finn Bradbrooke.
GAME ON … Barsby's junior varsity team hosts the Ballenas Whalers on Wednesday (Oct. 14) at 3 p.m. at John Barsby Secondary School's Canem Field, then the NDSS juniors host Spectrum on Oct. 15 at 3:15 p.m. at Merle Logan Field.
