The Nanaimo Acme Timbermen were stymied by the Tri-City Bandits.
The five-time defending champions of the West Coast Senior Lacrosse Association defeated the senior B T-men 14-10 on Saturday night at the Nanaimo Ice Centre.
The Acme Painting Timbermen (8-2) had won five in a row going into Saturday’s game, but were held scoreless in the first period and couldn’t get back in it after that.
Ryan Forslund and Blair Pinnock both scored hat tricks in the loss.
GAME ON … The Acme Timbermen don’t play again until a July 6 rematch against the Bandits (7-3) in Port Coquitlam. Next home action is July 7 against the Ladner Pioneers (7-1). That game will be at Frank Crane Arena, not at the NIC.
