War of words all irrelevant

To the Editor,

Re: United Nations backed forming state of Israel, Letters, Feb. 16.

Regrettably, it’s past time to recognize that the war of words between those who support Israel and those who back the Arabs, is an exercise of futility that will not be resolved in the same manner.

It’s been said numerous times that if a madman is advocating genocide, he should be believed and dealt with appropriately.

That resolution is seldom peaceful; witness the Second World War and the result of Hitler’s hatred of the Jews.

The reality is that Israel will eventually be victorious, even if bloodied. The present people called Palestinians are the same ones called Philistines in the Bible and their hatred of the Israelis is just as real now as it was then.

Present personal opinions are totally irrelevant and incapable of resolving anything.

Any dispassionate study of the comments of the leading Palestinians will reveal exactly how illogical their reasoning and comments are.

They claim to want justice and “their rights,” however, they refuse to grant the same to the Israelis.

There is no way that rational people will continue to support the irrational.

There is no possible appeasement of illogical hatred.
