Re: GMO proponents don’t tell the whole story, Letters, Sept. 17.
If we as citizens do not stand against GMOs in our food chain, GMOs will, like climate change, be a final man-made pollution of our sustainable environment.
We also need to realize that at the present time much of our food is contaminated with chemicals (preservatives, flavour, colour) and excessive amounts of sugar, salt and fat.These additives are unhealthy and addictive especially to growing children and adolescents now and for their future health concerning obesity, diabetes, heart disease and cancer.
Profit-first corporations, who bombard us with advertising and cheap processed food and drink need to be held responsible for the detrimental health effects of the products they market.
