To the Editor,
I am sickened and ashamed by Canada’s unquestioning support for Israeli aggression against the Palestinians in Gaza.
Given the horrible history of oppression suffered by the Jewish people you would expect them to show empathy rather than hatred and more oppression toward a similarly dispossessed population.
The refusal by some Israeli soldiers to take part in house demolitions and border harrassment of Palestinians and the growing movement by other Israelis to boycott commercial goods coming from stolen land in Gaza and the West Bank sets a humane example we should follow.
Unless Western governments awaken from their myopic, unjustified, pro-Israeli bias, further war crimes, violence, death and suffering is inevitable.
