Re: Bureaucracy needn’t grow, Opinion, Dec. 22.
What do the council members and the mayor do exactly? Didn’t we (the taxpayers) elect the council and mayor to plan and improve our living conditions, tourism and the corporate growth of our city?
So, now the mayor is saying he and the council members cannot do their job and have to spend more of our money for a strategic planning consultant to advise the Strategic Planning Steering Committee.
In addition, we are hiring an internal auditor to improve efficiencies. Is that not part of a department manager’s job description?
Come on. Really. Just get the job done yourselves.
