Military museum isn’t prominent enough in city

Nanaimo has true historical treasure both in artifacts and very knowledgeable veterans. Make it easier for visitors to take a trip.

To the Editor,

With Remembrance Day approaching, I headed to the Vancouver Island Military Museum. I wanted to have my dad’s Second World War medals mounted. I arrived with a map, only to have to drive around the block three times to locate the museum. I could not find one sign. When I inquired why there was a lack of signage, the caring veterans stated they tried and applied several times, but were turned down every time.

Nanaimo has true historical treasure both in artifacts and very knowledgeable veterans. Make it easier for visitors to take a trip with your vets to discover what so many gave up and allowed us to keep our freedom and lifestyle.
