To the editor,

Re: Thanks to NRE for its efforts, Letters, April 10.

With the Nanaimo Recycling Exchange currently shut down, I shudder to think of the massive amount of extra recyclable and non-recyclable items now going into our garbage bins and ending up in our landfill.

I deeply hope the NRE and our city council can still work things out and as quickly and smoothly as possible so the NRE can continue its important function here in the greater Nanaimo area and to continue to be a model for the rest of B.C. (and Canada).

Lynn Burrows, Nanaimo
