LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Those on the front lines know pandemic is serious

Trust health-care professionals, not Facebook groups, suggests letter writer

To the editor,

To anyone who believes wearing a mask is based on their right, or that COVID is a hoax, shame on you.

It breaks my heart to see my mom, a health-care worker crying herself to sleep alone at night because of fear of increasing cases in her workplace. She has to isolate herself from her family, sacrifice her safety to take care of somebody else’s family member and worry about her health every time she goes home.

So if anybody is not taking this pandemic seriously, I recommend those people to be on the front lines instead and open their eyes to what’s really happening in our community (not just based their information on a Facebook post).
