To the editor,

It has now been three months since the illegal break-in and enter and illegal conversion of city-owned property with the putting up of tents. For unknown reason, these lawbreakers, who are mostly not from around here, are still getting carte blanche along with city services, i.e. preferential treatment, while the local homeless people still are getting blocked out.

These intruders are not only giving Nanaimo a very bad reputation, they are giving the mall a lot of economic headaches with a loss of image to the downtown.

It also places an extra burden to the emergency services who are already feeling it, which in my books it not right at all.

It shows how really dysfunctional this so-called political system is that when a problem hits the fan big time, they just stick their heads in the sand like an ostrich.
