Drug dealers need to be receiving more serious punishments than mere slaps on the wrist, says letter writer. (News Bulletin file photo)

To the editor,

Re: Punish drug dealers more severely, Letters, Nov. 16.

The main problem, especially in this particular case, is that people addicted to drugs must steal other people’s property to sell it for money in order to buy drugs from the dealers who should not get just the usual slap on the wrist in court, but rather get a lot more severe punishment. These outdated laws require an update.
