Re: New MP costing Nanaimo taxpayers, Letters, Jan. 26.

Yes, we know that MPs and MLAs routinely send out self-serving newsletters with no significant information. It is the only evidence that they exist – until the next election. They are a total waste of money and should be discontinued.

As to the career shifts that routinely occur; they seem more driven by expediency and personal ambition than service to the community. We deserve more from someone earning a $185,600 salary.
