Re: Plastic use shouldn’t be regulated, Letters, July 27.
To the letter writer in the last issue, if you think plastics are so great, maybe you should go and volunteer to help clean them out of the oceans where they are killing millions of sea creatures and disrupting the health of ocean ecosystems. We can’t and shouldn’t be eating plastic but, because we are at the top of the food chain, we are – especially micro-plastics from ocean and freshwater fish and even from the air that we breathe. It is said that, by 2050, there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish.
