LETTER TO THE EDITOR: No need for masks on ferry’s car decks

Letter writer doesn’t feel Transport Canada guidelines pertinent to B.C.

To the editor,

Re: Ferry passengers will need to bring masks, June 10.

How many of the Ottawa crowd who now instruct us to carry a face mask on board a B.C. ferry have ever actually seen or sailed on one of these vessels?

And if you stay in your car on the bottom deck (which Ottawa decided to ban after many years without incident) why do you need a face mask? Last time I was on a car deck on a B.C. ferry, all the ‘windows’ were open, so there’s lots of fresh air down there to blow the virus away.
